Happy Halloween 2010

The boys had a lot of fun this year. We did a little trick-or-treating at my parents and then came back to their house for some caramel apples. I told the boys that they could eat as much candy as they wanted this one night. Monk had very few pieces and still ended up with a tummy ache the next morning. Bebo pretty much ate candy non stop from 6:30 until he went to bed at 9:00. His little belly was sticking out and was so full. The difference between my two children. I think I learned my lesson that I can have Monk eat whatever he wants and I need to put some regulations on Bebo.

Fall Camping in Ludington

We had our last camping trip of the year this past weekend. We had some rain drops, but had GREAT weather overall. The picture above is what I saw when I opened my camper door every morning. It doesn't get much better than that.
We rode out bikes to the lighthouse and the boys had fun getting sand in every crevice of their body.

Bebo climbed into this fire pit which was his "boat." It was a good thing that we never made a fire in this pit.
Fisherman took Monk fishing on the river a couple of times. Monk even caught a salmon on his little cars fishing pole. He was SOOOOooo excited about it.
We had a nice long weekend with some great friends. The boys were completely worn out when the weekend came to a close.

Field Trip

Last week Monk had his first field trip of the year. He was SOOOOOOOOOOo excited about going because he got to ride a pony. For about a week he asked me every day if today was the day that he would ride a horse.

Ponchos for the fourth time

Last weekend we went on one of our favorite camping trips of the year at Ponchos. We started the night out on Friday with a haunted hay ride.
On Saturday we picked up some pumpkins and did some pumpkin carving. Bebo had to be able to carry his pumpkin. I was trying to find him a big one and he was sooooo happy with this little one that he found.
He is getting to be a stinker about getting his picture taken. He won't look at me.
Monk carved his own pumpkin this year. He gave it two eyes, "eye browns", ears, a square nose, and a mouth. He also added two tooth picks sticking out of the sides as arms. This year the pumpkin carving contest was a HUGE hit because Monk WON in his age group. He was SO excited and I was so proud of him. It was an exciting moment as a Mama.
After some lunch and a nap we put on the boys costumes and headed out for costume judging and the pinata.
Both of the boys got a chance to take a couple of swings at the pinata. After that it was time for trick or treating.
Saturday night the adults went through the haunted maze while the kids had a fabulous pumpkin cookie and hot chocolate. On Sunday we had some donuts and cider for breakie. It was such a GREAT weekend. We can't wait to do it again next year.

Six Months - Check

Six months are done and I head into my seventh month and last trimester of my THIRD pregnancy. I cannot believe how fast it is going by. The last time I was at the doc I started to measure big, which I kind of expected. So they are keeping an eye on the baby's size and may end up taking it a bit early. My little Bebo was almost a week early and weighed in at 9 lbs. 10 ounces. I have been having some cramping here and there, but other than that I can complain! I cannot wait to meet this new little person. I am ready to be a family of five!

Fall Fotos

I haven't taken the boys out to take some nice pictures in a long time. Actually I have been kind of anti-pictures because I was tired of scrap booking them all. Anyway here are some cute individual ones. The pictures I got of them together may just show up in your mailbox for a Christmas card.

Punkinfest

This past weekend the boys and I went to pumpkinfest. Although we don't usually make it to the parade, we really enjoy some of the things going on in the morning. The boys both got their face painted.
As always we had a pumpkin cookie from the bakery. This is a must every year.

The critter barn is also a highlight for the boys.
This year they were both willing to hold the animals. Bebo was thrilled with himself when he snagged this poor little guy.

Sauce Makin'

I haven't had a large chunk of time where I can make apple sauce in one sitting so I have been doing a small batch here and there. These are my helpers.
Monk washes the apples in the sink for me.
We take off the peel...
...and then cook away. We got a little carried away on the picking this year so we are going to have A LOT of applesauce.
