September Bro Pic

For those of you who maybe haven't ever noticed I put a picture of the brothers on my sidebar every month. This month has a little story behind it. After Bebo's nap I usually put him on our bed with Monk who is normally watching Sesame Street. I left for a couple minutes and came back to Bebo sitting right next to Monk and both of them were under the covers. Bebo is so good about putting up with stuff like that from Monk. Some days I don't know how he does it. Monk was doing a little jig to the music on Sesame Street to complete this cute little picture.

Sans Kids

Labor day just so happens to be our wedding anniversary this year. We were given a wonderful Christmas gift from Fisherman's parents for a bed and breakfast along with free babysitting by Grandpa and Grandma. The place is SOOOOO nice! We are enjoying ourselves to the max! This is my first time away from Bebo over night so that has been on my mind a bit, but I am loving some time with my husband without the kids.

The B&B is close to my in-laws house so they picked these awesome flowers from their garden and brought them to the room for us with a card and a gift certificate for a nice dinner on the lake. YYYYYEEEESSSSS!!!! There will be more pictures to come. Not having two boys around sure gives me lots of extra time.

Passing Me By

Yesterday I was able to hold a good friend's day old baby girl. As I held her in my arms tears welled up in my eyes for two reasons. First I was so happy that my friend is now able to experience the joys of motherhood, something I wish for all woman, and secondly I was struggling with the fact that it seemed like just yesterday when I was holding Bebo exactly like this in the hospital. Lately I have been very aware of the way that life grabs hold of our shirt Collar and takes us 100 mph through the days. I have to admit that there are days when I don't want to be a mom and I would rather be doing something else, but something in me fears that these days, when our kids are young, are some of the best days of our lives. This is the time when Monk and Bebo need me the most and one of the only times that I am number one in their lives. As I held that tiny, sweet little girl in my arms I realized how big my baby boy had gotten and how much he has changed. I wish there was a way to make time stand still or at least slow down a bit.

Camping Weekend

We went camping this weekend and had a blast thanks to this rig. We borrowed my parents fifth wheel and despite being worried about wrecking everything inside it made camping with two small boys so much fun. Fisherman and I never thought that we would be the trailer campin' type people, but it just makes things so much easier when you have to wash bottles and give children naps.
Monk's get up one day consisted of a sweatshirt, a bathing suit, and of course some frog boots.

Bebo was the ultimate baby while we were there. He was pretty happy doing whatever. I wore him a lot and he was lovin' that. We went with a group of 6 families from church so he loved watching all the kids playing.

Only camping can you have spray cheese squirted directly in your mouth.

Monk finally learned to use the peddles on his bike. We were so excited!

We stayed at a state park and not only did they have a beach close by, but they also had a crick full or crayfish. The boys LOVED it! Can't wait to go again next year!

Six Month Pictures

I took Bebo to get his 6 month pictures taking and it went so well it was hard for me to choose just a few.

Pintastic

So today I hung up my first load of laundry outside EVER! I have to admit that I loved it. I know it was only my first time and I am sure that it will be a chore that I get sick of, but for now it was actually kind of therapeutic. A half hour before Bebo needs to go down for his nap he gets a little crabby so I put him on my back in the Kozy Mei Tai and we all went outside to hang laundry. It didn't take very long and was a great little distraction for Bebo to make it the extra half hour
All in all it didn't take me much more time than drying it in the dryer inside. The clothes smelled extra yummy and it got us out to enjoy the weather. I am going to see if I can do most of our clothes minus towels and wash clothes on the line and see if we save some dollars.

Thinkin' about making the switch

I have always wanted to do cloth diapers since before I had Bebo and I FINALLY got around to trying some out. I know that it is going to be a little more work, but I think I really want to do it. All I have to do now is convince Fisherman that it's the right choice for us. Any other cloth diapering Mama's out there with any advice?

Six Month Stats

Bebo had to get the nasty shots today. My heart still breaks when the little people in my life have to go through this. He is our tall skinny little man. He weighed in at 16 pounds 12 ounces and was 27 1/2 inches tall. Monk was just about around the same weight as Bebo, but Bebo is much taller than Monk.

Wagon Wheel

Thirty Months 08/08/08 - Monk

Two and a half years Monkadilly! You are getting to be such a big boy! In the last month you went through a huge growth spurt. Once upon a time your head was just below the island in our kitchen now it is above it causing you to hit your noggin a time or two. I have also noticed this growth spurt when I hold you because your little legs dangle so far off my arm now that you are getting so tall.

This month you have been into dinosaurs, cars, and still the Backyardigans. I have to forever hold myself back from buying you things that I know you will love. It is hard for me because I LOVE to see the delight on your face when you get something you really like. When we went to get Pablo and Tyrone for your surgery I told myself that we were only going to get one. When we got to the store and I asked you which one you wanted you quickly grabbed both out of my hands and clutched them tightly to your chest. My heart melted onto the floor and you ended up with both.
I am so glad that you love the water so much because I do too. I hope to always be the mom in the pool with you. Hold me to this little man!

Last night we set up a tent that you got as a gift. Daddy left for a meeting and I put you to bed. Instead of going right into your crib we both crawled into your little tent, my legs were hanging out, and we just sat together chatting. Times like these I am in awe of you. You are such a sweet little man Monk. I am so lucky to have you! I love you with all my heart. -Mama

Tubes

Well it was a quick little procedure and he was done before I knew it. Monk did really well. I brought a magazine along with not knowing how much time I would have while he was gone, but Saved By the Bell reruns intrigued me more than the magazine. Everything went GREAT! It was the hardest for me when they brought him back and he just looked so drugged.

Fisherman and I got him a little surprise and he LOVED it. His very own plush Pablo and Tyrone. When everything was said and done I told Monk that we had to go home and he told me that he wanted to stay at the hospital with the doctor so I guess that means that he didn't have too bad of an experience. Today we are just laying low and watching some movies.

Six Months 08/06/08 - Bebo

Bebo you are half way to a year. How did this happen? As this milestone has been approaching I have been finding myself reflecting on the last six months and realizing how fast this is all going. I have been trying to step back and squish your chubby baby thighs a little more and kiss your neck smelling your baby goodness knowing that all too soon all this will fade away and you will be a little boy.

I love that you have been sleeping for 10-11 hours a night for the past week. I am so happy to see you in the morning and you are so happy to see me. I love going in to your room and seeing your little smilin' face peering up at me.

In the last week or so you have started doing the tripod sit which means you sit holding yourself up with one of your arms. You can only hold on for a little bit before you throw yourself back and fall over, but you have to start somewhere right?

As is true with all babies EVERYTHING goes into your mouth. I absolutely love handing you something when you have a nuk in your mouth to see you try to figure out how you will get the item handed to you in your mouth. This can end in crying, but it sure makes me laugh.

Piggies in your mouth have been a favorite, especially in the car.
Bebo you are such a warm hearted kid. I love how you bury your head in my chest when you smile at someone. I love when I am wearing you and you find your thumb and lay your warm little head against my chest. I love your bright eyes. They are so striking with a little bit of brown in the center surrounded by a sea of blue. I love you Bebo! You light up my world.

My Heart Hurts

Just asking prayers for this family that lost their sweet little 18 month old girl. I graduated with both of the parents. Tears fill my eyes as I type this because not only do I know who they are, but I cannot imagine the pain that they are experiencing. Cherish each moment you have with your children!

Pool Party Baby!

Today we had a play date at a friends pool. The boys had lots of fun especially the Monk man. We had some hot dogs and some fun in the pool.
