For those of you who maybe haven't ever noticed I put a picture of the brothers on my sidebar every month. This month has a little story behind it. After Bebo's nap I usually put him on our bed with Monk who is normally watching Sesame Street. I left for a couple minutes and came back to Bebo sitting right next to Monk and both of them were under the covers. Bebo is so good about putting up with stuff like that from Monk. Some days I don't know how he does it. Monk was doing a little jig to the music on Sesame Street to complete this cute little picture.

Sans Kids
Labor day just so happens to be our wedding anniversary this year. We were given a wonderful Christmas gift from Fisherman's parents for a bed and breakfast along with free babysitting by Grandpa and Grandma. The place is SOOOOO nice! We are enjoying ourselves to the max! This is my first time away from Bebo over night so that has been on my mind a bit, but I am loving some time with my husband without the kids.
The B&B is close to my in-laws house so they picked these awesome flowers from their garden and brought them to the room for us with a card and a gift certificate for a nice dinner on the lake. YYYYYEEEESSSSS!!!! There will be more pictures to come. Not having two boys around sure gives me lots of extra time.Thursday, August 28, 2008
Passing Me By
Yesterday I was able to hold a good friend's day old baby girl. As I held her in my arms tears welled up in my eyes for two reasons. First I was so happy that my friend is now able to experience the joys of motherhood, something I wish for all woman, and secondly I was struggling with the fact that it seemed like just yesterday when I was holding Bebo exactly like this in the hospital. Lately I have been very aware of the way that life grabs hold of our shirt Collar and takes us 100 mph through the days. I have to admit that there are days when I don't want to be a mom and I would rather be doing something else, but something in me fears that these days, when our kids are young, are some of the best days of our lives. This is the time when Monk and Bebo need me the most and one of the only times that I am number one in their lives. As I held that tiny, sweet little girl in my arms I realized how big my baby boy had gotten and how much he has changed. I wish there was a way to make time stand still or at least slow down a bit.

Sling Shack Featured Item - Moby Wrap
This weeks featured item is the ever popular Moby Wrap. Be comfortable
The design of the Moby™ Wrap uses your entire back, as well as your shoulders, to carry the weight of your baby. Unlike other carriers, which have narrow straps or go across one shoulder, the Moby™ Wrap is a wide piece of fabric that is wrapped over both shoulders. It is amazingly comfortable and easy to wear. There are no buckles, snaps or other fasteners. It is easy to adjust the fit of your Moby™ Wrap by varying how tightly you wrap yourself and your baby.
Be secure
The Moby™ Wrap comes with an easy to follow instructional guide and this web site with the latest news, tips and techniques. With the single stretch cotton and the width of the Moby™ Wrap, your baby is wrapped close and tight, ensuring a secure hold. Your baby’s head can also be secured under the stretchy cotton fabric for added safety. You can finally have both hands free and know your baby is safe and secure.
Be uniquely close to your baby
There is not a lot of extra material or bulky padding between you and your baby. Your baby can hear your heartbeat and finds comfort in the warmth of your body, and sound of your heartbeat within the cuddly confines of the Moby™ Wrap.
Preemie to 35 lbs.
The Moby™ Wrap is an optimal baby carrier for premature infants. Preemies are often prescribed to practice "kangaroo care" and this skin-to-skin practice used to increase birth weight can be easily achieved while wearing the Moby™ Wrap. The Moby™ Wrap is long enough to adapt to your growing baby. The fabric can hold up to 45 lbs, and most people feel comfortable carrying up to 35 lbs.
Soothes fussy babies
It is amazing how quickly a baby will settle down once wrapped in the Moby™ Wrap. Experts like Dr. Sears, stress the importance of holding your baby often and close. The Moby™ Wrap allows you to do this with ease. The style of the wrap insures your baby is uniquely close, while providing ultimate comfort and support. No more aching backs or tired arms! Now your baby can be kept close and happy for as long as he or she desires.
Versatile
There are many ways to wear your Moby™ Wrap. Your can wear your baby facing you, facing the world, sideways or on your back. When not being used as a carrier, the Moby™ can be used as blanket, pillow or anything else that comes to mind.
Machine washable
The Moby™ Wrap is easy to clean. You can machine wash your Moby™ in cold water and tumble dry low. Slight shrinkage after washing may occur. Once you start wearing your Moby™ again, it will stretch out.
The Moby Wrap holds a special place in my heart that is for sure. This was the first wrap that I purchased for Bebo and he was in it the day he came home from the hospital. I fell in love with the comfort that it provided and the softness of the fabric. Moby's are great for newborns as they hold the baby snug to the caregivers body. As we all know newborns heads are a little fragile. I was never worried about Bebo's head in the Moby. I just tucked his little head inside the wrap and we were good to go.

Thinkin' about making the switch
I have always wanted to do cloth diapers since before I had Bebo and I FINALLY got around to trying some out. I know that it is going to be a little more work, but I think I really want to do it. All I have to do now is convince Fisherman that it's the right choice for us. Any other cloth diapering Mama's out there with any advice?

Six Month Stats
Bebo had to get the nasty shots today. My heart still breaks when the little people in my life have to go through this. He is our tall skinny little man. He weighed in at 16 pounds 12 ounces and was 27 1/2 inches tall. Monk was just about around the same weight as Bebo, but Bebo is much taller than Monk.

My Heart Hurts
Just asking prayers for this family that lost their sweet little 18 month old girl. I graduated with both of the parents. Tears fill my eyes as I type this because not only do I know who they are, but I cannot imagine the pain that they are experiencing. Cherish each moment you have with your children!
