Christmas Day/Weekend 2009

As quickly as we could on Christmas morning after some yummy breakfast we headed north for Christmas with Fisherman's family.
The boys always have a good time while they are at the cabin.
Bebo didn't get to open too many of his presents by himself because his buzz jammie brother was always insisting on helping him. A cow that plays some music.
Monk and his constructive workbench.
Bebo playing Santa the next morning when we opened stockings.
Monk helped open everyone's stocking in our family. He was loving that. We had a great weekend at the cabin with family. We laughed, played games, and had some yummy treats.

Christmas Morning 2009

Christmas morning we woke up and opened our stockings from Papa and Nana while the cinnamon rolls were baking in the oven.
A cowboy for Bebo.
Some peanut store juju coins for Monk. He may have already had to share some of those with his Mama.
Two nutcrackers for their collections.
A cowboy ornament for Bebo.

Christmas Eve 2009

On Christmas Eve we went to my parents to celebrate Christmas. In Bebo's mind all was fabulous when the night got started off with a plate of M&M's. He had a large amount right before dinner and after he had his slimy mitts in there no one else really cared to touch them. All in his plan I guess.
It was a Buzz Christmas. Both boys got a Buzz Lightyear and Buzz jammies. I am all about getting two of everything now because Bebo ALWAYS wants what Monk has.
Monk and his Buzz.
Monk got a new "big boy" scooter from his aunt, uncle, and cousins. He can't wait to try it out.
Monk in his Buzz jammies. Note: from here on out Monk will be photographed in his buzz jammies. He wore them for over 48 hours straight. They came with two shirts so you will see the other shirt, but the same neon green pants.
Bebo loved his new chairs and table.
Monk got a new bike. He has been riding his tricycle up until now. He is going to love this camping next summer.
The night was ended with a Christmas cookie in some Christmas jammies. It was such a fabulous night spent with family. I couldn't have asked for anything better. Fisherman and I are so blessed.

Merry Christmas

Last night I was sitting in the lights of the Christmas tree reading a good Christmas book when my oldest little man came up the stairs from his bed. I scooped him up, cradled him in my arms and talked with him about the baby Jesus. Tears filled my eyes as I looked into his little boy eyes and told him that baby Jesus was born this time of year and that he had a Mama that loved him just as much as I love him. As a mother the Christmas story is all that more meaningful to me. What joy Mary must have felt to not only be holding her precious, perfect in every way baby boy, but to be holding the savior of the world. A friend of mine had this song on her blog today and when I listened to it I fell in love and had to post it on my blog as well. If you have a minute to let it play in the background, it's worth it.
Have a wonderful Christmas everyone. Enjoy the wonder of the birth of our savior.

Family Christmas

We celebrated Christmas with our family this past Saturday because we are with our extended families on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. It was such a wonderful day FULL of fun things. Fisherman and I were able to enjoy our two blessings to the max.
When the boys got up we started the day off right with some stocking presents. Both boys got some finger puppets and loved them.
Bebo liked the M um M's the most. He is a HUGE M&M fan thanks to his Nana.
Monk liked the candy cane full of skittles.
After stockings we had homemade Cinnamon rolls. This is the first time that I have ever made them, but after tasting them we will be having these every year from here on out. After having breakfast we all went downstairs and watched Frosty.
Before lunch we decorated cupcakes for the Jesus' birthday. The boys got REALLY into putting sprinkles on top. Bebo even put them on cakes that weren't frosted yet so if you were lucky you got a double layer of sprinkles. We also opened our gifts that were under the tree before lunch.
Fisherman and I got a treadmill for our birthdays and Christmas from many different people including ourselves. Fisherman tried it out last night and says it works GREAT! We told each other that we wouldn't get one another any gifts, yet there were two for me under the tree. Fisherman gets the husband of the year award because he got me a juicer. I have been wanting one of these for awhile now. I wanted to make the kids juice that is better for them and I also drink a smoothie twice a week before work. So we have had a different types of juice everyday since I got this bad boy. I LOVE IT!
We get our children three gifts for Christmas representing the three gifts of the Magi. My parents always did this and I thought it was a neat tradition to carry on. Here Bebo is playing with his Tag Jr.
Monk's favorite gift was the Leapster.
For dinner we made some homemade pizza and then enjoyed our cupcakes.
After dinner the boys opened their third gift which was Frosty from build-a-bear. They both love Frosty.
Then we went to Build-a-Bear and got the Frosty's stuffed. They both had a blast.
The air bath was a favorite! We had such an amazing day as a family. I am sad to see that it is over. I am looking forward to carrying on some of the traditions of the day unto next years Christmas.

Oh Holy Night Oh Nine

Monk put together the nativity again at our house. This just warms my heart every single year. He has been learning the nativity story in school and it reflects in the way he placed each piece. Everyone has a spot except the wise man in the lower right hand corner seems to not want to face his audience.

More Christmas Tree Activities

Monk and I made some yummy cookies together. He is the sprinkle KING. Sadly Bebo had a bit of a cold so he had to sit this one out.
We went sledding! It was such a beautiful day for it. The sun was shinning, we stayed warm, and we were one of the only families there.
We also had some hot chocolate with colored "smarshmellows."
It doesn't get much better than this does it buddy?

Second Annual Christmas Calender

Last year we started the tradition of doing a Christmas Calender. This year we have done so many fun things already. We started the month out right with some Christmas parades.
Last week Saturday we headed to the Critter Barn for their live nativity and to pet all the animals of course.

Bebo warmed up to this bunny, but about had a heart attack anytime anything came within ten feet of him.It has been a fun month with our kids. My hope is that they will cherish this calendar and look forward to what each day has to bring for them each December.

Forty-Six Months 12/9/2009 - Monk

Oh Monk what am I going to do with you. It is 9:30 PM while I am writing this and here you are standing next to me when you should be in your bed nice and warm and sleeping. This is the THIRD time you have gotten out of your bed tonight. Sometimes I get angry about this, but a lot of the time I just can't help but want to snuggle you and have some one on one time with you while your brother is in bed. Now I know what you are thinking internet and yes I KNOW that if I am showing him love and cuddling him when he gets out of bed that this is only going to cause this to continue, but I JUST CAN'T HELP MYSELF!!!!! There I admitted it, I am a softy when it comes to warm fuzzy pajama, snuggly goodness.
Here you are pictured with your coat on. Even though snow has been on the ground for over a week now you are still refusing to keep your coat on. The moment you get into the car your coat comes off. The moment we get into the store even though we will only be there for two minutes your coat is off. OR you just plain don't even want to wear it out. That is an argument I am just choosing to let go. I am hoping that you learn soon that being cold is not so nice.
Christmas this year is going to be so precious with you. I can tell already. You had the church Sunday school Christmas program last week Sunday and hearing you sing, "Go tell it on the mountain that Jesus Christ is born" just brought tears to my eyes. When you came home from school today you told me that you sang a song about the bebe Jesus and your little arms made a cradle and you rocked them back and forth. I am so excited that you are getting what Christmas is really about.
Monk you make me laugh. Your smile brightens my day. In the past month there have been many times where you just turn around and smile at me. I love your enthusiasm for life and your passion for people. I love you more and more each day. Love, Mama

Twenty-Two Months 12/06/09 - Bebo

My sweet Bebo, where do I begin this month? You're little personality is developing so much. You are beginning to have a mind of your own and when you want something you want it NOW!
You still LOVE all things cowboy. The moment we get downstairs you are begging to get on the bouncy horse. I used to love the bouncy horse sooooooo much as a kid. It brings me so much joy to see you love it too. You love to listen to cowboy music, watch cowboys on tv, and wear your cowboy hat any chance that you get.
One of my favorite times during the day will forever be when I put you into bed at night. I give your sweet little cheek a kiss and drop you down into your crib. Your sleepy little eyes look up at me and you say "nigh night mommy." I love your innocence at this age and have been trying to soak up every minute of it.
You love having your picture taken although it only last for a minute or two. You say cheese and give me the goofy grin that you are in the first picture of this post. Then you proceed to say pickles.
Bebo I love your wonder, sweetness, and joy. I love the way you light up when you see me walk into a room and how you say my name over and over and hug my leg. I love the way you smell and ALL the cuddling. You are such a little lover. I love you more and more each day. Love, Mama

Norway Spruce

Last week Saturday we took the kids to go get a tree. They had trees that were pre-cut, but Monk said that he wanted to get a big huge tree and cut it down ourselves. So we went hunting for the perfect tree for our living room.
Once we found it Fisherman cut it down...
...and pulled it out.
Monk put the angel on the top of the tree again this year.
I am thinking that the tree turned out pretty good and am lovin' the two little boys standing in front of it.
