I need some paper towels here...
... to wipe up the mess that my heart made all over the floor when it melted. Monk does not fall asleep by me too often, but when he does I SURE love it! Little moments like these make being a mom 100% worth it!

Sick Baby!
Our poor little boy has been sick with the stomach flu AGAIN this weekend. I am not sure why he keeps coming down with all of this stuff, but I wish that it would stop for his sake. Fisherman had to work all weekend so it was just me and Monk. I will spare you all of the details, but I did get thrown up on more in these past two days than I have ever in my life before. There was lots of laundry done and changing of clothes around these parts. Four things were my saving grace this weekend: frankie, the turquoise blankie, Baby Einstein, Baby Tad, and the Nuk (pacifier). These four things are what got me through. He seems to be doing a little better, but still not himself. Get better Monk, I want to see your smilin' face again SOON!

A weekend at the Cabin!
Last weekend we went to Fisherman's parents house for a nice relaxing weekend away from all the hustle and bustle. Monk liked the new atmosphere, but didn't like it enough to take some good naps while we were there.
On the Four Wheeler with Dad. This activity never gets old for Monk.
He also LOVED to be pulled around in the sled.
As some of you know Monk is a pistol in the car. We try to travel while he sleeps, but he only took a short nap on the way home so we were stuck entertaining him for the rest of the time. He cried pretty much all but 5 minutes when he was enjoying, for one of the first times, ice cream in the yummy form of a shamrock shake. He LOVED it!Wednesday, March 07, 2007
Thirteen Months 3/08/07 - Monk
Oh Monk this has been a crazy month to say the least. You have been pretty healthy so that is a plus. I was beginning to wonder if you would be sick for the rest of the winter there for a little while. I am finally getting you to drink out of a big boy straw. This has been a bit of a challenge since you had the stomach flu. You were just starting to take a sippy cup before you got sick and then after you were all better you wanted nothing to do with it so I had to resort to using a straw cup which you are FINALLY starting to like.
You love Angler to pieces. You have no strong feelings towards Sincerely because she gets up and leaves every time that you come near her. Anytime that we ask you where Angler is you look around for him with a big smile on your face. I give Angler a lot of credit because he sure puts up with a lot as you can see from this picture. Giving hugs is one of your new favorite things to do. Angler, myself, and Daddy are more than likely the lucky ones on the receiving end. You wrap your little arms around our neck and nuzzle your head next to ours. Every time you do that I find myself closing my eyes smelling your baby magic goodness and wishing that moments like these could last forever.
During this month you have become extremely independent. You want to do everything by yourself and if you don't get exactly what you want you whine about it. Your dad and I finally realize that whining is not always a parent problem. As you can see from this picture your meal times have become VERY messy because you want to feed yourself with the spoon. About 3/4 of your meal ends up on the floor, tray, or bib.
Another favorite thing that you like to do lately is climb up on the chair, couch, bed, or your big red car to sit in it and play with something that you have brought along. Nana says that you sit in Papa's chair with the tv remote. This proves the point that men are men from the day they are born.
Everyday that goes by you are getting better and better at walking. Even though you are getting to be Mr. independent you still want love and attention from mom and dad tough. Pulling on our pant leg to pick you up is one of your favorite stunts to pull. Even though you are getting to be so big boy you still have a weakness for your blankie frankie and for your new love of a nuk.
Monk days with you are brighter and so much more fun. Your dad and I have a chance to be kids all over again. Everyday that we get to face with you is a blessing. We love you kid, we love the way you make us smile and your scrumptious cheeks.
