The Beaver Smile

Fisherman and I laugh at how one boy can smile so differently. See how cute he is in the picture above...
...and then out comes the beaver smile.

Baby Number Three (that sounds CRAZY to write)

Last week Friday I had the 20 week ultrasound of this little person growing inside of me. I loved seeing that precious little being moving and growing. The tech was unable to get a whole profile picture of the baby because of the position it was in. That was a little disappointing, but overall the experience was just as amazing as it was with my other two.
Seeing this little new love of my life I was reminded by a poem that my Grandmother kept. It was read at her funeral and I found it so fitting to share on the very day I share about the ultrasound. I was unable to scan my ultrasound pictures so unfortunately I cannot share them.

Mother

I may not be a queen,
sitting on a throne;
I have no earthly treasure
to call my very own.
No great things have I done
for the world to see;
My manners and appearance
are common as can be.
But, I am the queen
of my own family,
My own dear children are
my jewels, you see.
I need not do some great
or heroic deed,
But into each little heart
sow loves' tender seed.
I need not put on airs
or with great riches bother.
My greatest treasure lies
in being called just:
MOTHER

What joy it brings me to be able to be called Mama by another little voice. No treasure in this world is greater than this.

Baldwin Oaks

Last weekend we went camping with just our family. We had so much fun even though we didn't go far from home. The campground had a pool and so we spent LOTS of time in there.

Lately Bebo is obsessed with this "little Woody" and he needs to go everywhere. Why the toy makers made a hat that was not attached to this little Woody's head is beyond me. I have spent a lot of my time looking for Woody's hat.
Monk made some progress swimming while we were there. We don't get the chance to go swimming in a pool very often so I feel like my kids don't advance as fast as those that swim all the time. Monk started swimming without his ring and just his life jacket. Now he swims across the pool on his own.
Bebo also made some progress. He was out in the big pool and was happy about it until he fell in and then that was over. Back to the stairs he went.

It was such a relaxing weekend we are thinking of going again next weekend.

Roseola

I tried to get a better picture of the boys in their prime of the roseola they came down with last week, but this is all I ended up with. You can kind of see it on Bebo's cheeks. Poor little men had a fever and then broke out in a wicked rash all over their little bodies. We spent LOTS of time cuddling.

W-Iowa, The Corniest Station in the Nation

The Monk man insisted that we grow some corn in our garden this year. It was ready last week so we picked it.
He shucked it
and picked out the BIGGEST one to eat himself.
The corn was pretty good I must say and the happiness on this little boy's face when we ate it was the best part of all.

OC Fair

We went to the fair. The boys got arm bands with a coupon that I had so they were on every ride, most of them twice. Bebo still talks about this dragon ride to this day.
Bebo also liked this car ride and when he was taken off he cried until we put him back on.

Monk didn't dare do this big slide last year, but was all about it this year. He thought he was pretty big stuff. As always we had a junk food dinner filled with corn dogs, pizza, fries, and elephant ears.

Two Point Five

I can't believe that today my baby is two and a half years old. The time is going by far to quickly. My favorite age that I have experienced thus far as a Mama has been from 18 months to three years old. Bebo has added so much laughter and sweetness to our lives. The things that this kid says you would think he was 10. His latest and greatest has been singing (out of the blue) "Who Let the Dogs out," compliments of just dance on the wii. Just today while I was making lunch he was singing this very song with a HUGE smile on his face. My favorite is when I hear, "Mama" in this sweet Little voice and when I say, "yes Bebo," he responds by saying, "I wub you!" Although he talks very well and A LOT for a little man his age he has a hard time with his y's. Yee-haw sounds more like wee-haw and yes more like wes. After he finishes singing "you got a friend in me," he ends with a BIG "Wes you do." I love that he loves to snuggle. I take many "Bebo breaks" throughout the day to spend some time snuggling on the couch or rocking chair. I love you Bebo and while I want you to stay little I also love watching you grow into a little person and become more independent as the days go by. Love you always and forever, Mama

A Bebo After Fisherman's own Heart

A week ago, Fisherman went and got Bebo his first fishing pole for our camping trip. I was gone the night the fishing pole was given to him, but this is Bebo when he saw his brother getting out his fishing pole. This little man wants one of his own.
This is kind of a bad picture, but you can faintly see the pure delight on this little boy's face that he now has his own fishing pole and "taco box" just like Monk.

He played with it for the rest of the night and has been talking about it ever since.
