Children's Museum

I am a bit behind on blogging. We have been trying to enjoy the summer while we still have some warm weather left. Last weekend we went to the children's museum because our zoo pass works there in the month of August.
Monk and Bebo did a little shopping.

The boys both LOVED the fishing boat.

Forty-Two Months 08/08/09 - Monk

Oh Monker what a month it has been. To this statement you would say, "WHY." I have heard, "why" more than I have any other word in the English language in the past month times a billion. I love you and I know that you need to learn more, but sometimes you just exhaust all the answers little man.
You also LOVE to talk! Some things make me laugh and unfortunately as you are getting older you are learning some not so nice things as well. You love to talk about stinky buns and dirty diapers.
You are really into the garden that we planted. Since you helped Daddy with it you love eating all the things from it too. Cherry tomatoes have become a treat for you.
You are learning to fib a bit. While you are still pretty honest in telling me that you bit your brother while at Nana's house, you will tell me that you went potty before bed when you didn't.
Summer has been good for you. You LOVE to go camping, swimming, and fishing. Not too many days go by without you asking if we can go to "the campsite."
Band-aids are a HUGE thing right now. If you so much as bump one of your body parts unto something you are asking for a band-aid. It is cute and expensive all in the same breath.
You love to monkey. The other night when you were suppose to be sleeping I turn around and find you standing right next to me with socks on your hands and three pairs of socks on each feet.
Monk I love your sweetness and your willingness to still give me some good hugs and kisses. I love how your smile causes your eyes to squint. I love you more and more each passing day.
Love, Mama

Eighteen Months 08/06/09 - Bebo

My sweet Bebo, you are a year and a half. I am having a hard time with this milestone. You are creeping up on two faster than I can believe. You are depending on me less and less.
You are a funny goofy little man. I just love all your little antics. I love how when you wake up from your nap in the afternoon I hardly even open the door to your room and you are saying "snack?" I love in the morning when you just wake up and I bring you back into bed with me and you HAVE to have the covers over you just like I do and how you grab your "B" and bring it to your face while you suck your thumb. This may sound a little crazy, but I love the sound you make when your little thumb goes into your mouth and you start sucking.
In the past month you have been hugely into cowboys since we got back from out west. You search around for your cowboy hat, put it on, and then you want to go downstairs so that we can watch the cowboy movie. Cowboy has evolved from "COW" to "owbouy." Each and every time that you say "owbouy" it melts my heart.
You love to give huge wet kisses. On the list of not so favorite things is having your diaper changed. I have to admit that I have put off changing a dirty diaper because it makes you cry and squirm like you wouldn't believe.
You have no fear when it comes to the water. You are willing to go full tilt into the water and not care where you end up. You lay down on your belly and put your face in the water, it just amazes me and reminds me to keep a close eye on you when we are anywhere near the water.
I bought you a shirt that says "Monkey see, Monkey Do" because that sums you up. You want to do things just like Daddy and Monk do.
Bebo you make me laugh, you make me smile, you warm my heart. Each day I love you just a little more than the last. Thank you for bringing me so much joy and happiness in the past year and a half. Love you with all my heart.
Love, Mama

Up

Last Saturday Fisherman and I took Monk to see his first movie in the theater. We went to see Up and Monk just loved the whole experience including the popcorn and the POP! These are the kind of things that I love about having kids.

County Fair

We made our annual visit to the county fair this weekend. Monk got an arm band so that he could go on all the rides that he wanted. He went on ride after ride after ride. I was waiting for him to loose the corn dog that he had right before he started going on the rides, but nothing ever happened.
Bebo and Daddy went to go see the animals in the barn.

Monk even played a carni game...
...and got this "shooter gun" as a prize.

Fountain

Last week I went with a couple friends and their kids downtown to the fountain. I would totally recommend it.
Checking out the holes is probably not the best idea
because you might get sprayed

Garden Update

Our little garden has been surprising us. So far we have had some of the best green beans that I have ever tasted, BLT's with some yellow tomatoes, and...
...we have had LOTS of zucchini which neither Fisherman nor I remember getting, but we have it coming out of our ears so I went a little suzy homemaker and...
...made some zucchini bread. Next year I want to make our whole backyard into a garden.
