Blue Skies

We have had kind of a yucky week over here with sickness and some other things. Monk seems to be feeling on the mend, but Bebo is still struggling with a double ear infection, probably a sinus infection, and he also had a chest x-ray to make sure that he doesn't have pneumonia. We are awaiting the results. He is having tube surgery in a couple of weeks so we need to get him better for that.
Yesterday I decided that the boys needed to smile and have some fun. A good friend of mine believed in the power of the chlorine to shield her son from getting sick and gave me the push I needed to get out of the house.
It felt good to escape and feel like it was summer again. It helped lift our spirits.
Now you may by wondering why my boys have life jackets on in 3 feet of water. In my defense it is hard to watch TWO little guys at one time and I feel like this just gives them the extra safety if I am not there right away to scoop them up with they fall.

Runnin' Boys

Since I have been running lately my boys are always getting out my shoes and putting them on with a watch. It brings me so much joy that they are learning that exercise should be a part of your every day routine!

Forty-Seven Months 1/8/2010 - Monk

Monk you are so close to four, I can't believe it! Christmas for you this year was such a joy. It was a little hard teaching you what giving is about instead of receiving, but other than that you had so much fun. Every gift that you got was, "the BEST!" So I guess even though the giving part of Christmas was hard to grasp we can be happy that the gratitude part was in full swing.
You got these Buzz Lightyear jammies from Papa and Nana for Christmas and ended up wearing them for over 48 hours straight. If you could wear them every night you would. I know things like this are little, but I just love to see you enjoy something so much. Seeing you happy brings me happiness.
You are a wild little man lately with LOTS of energy. Most times I can barely keep up with you. For some reason when I am making dinner you are a crazy man and run around the house. I don't know where you get all your energy from.
You LOVE helping dad with anything. You like to help shovel the driveway, make dinner, and go to Daddy's work. Another thing that you like to do with Daddy is go hunting. While we were at Grandpa and Grandma's for Christmas you begged Dad to bring you hunting.
Here you are sitting in the deer blind with Daddy loving life. Monk I love your caring spirit, your smile, and your kisses. You are the light of my life. Love, Mama

Twenty-Three Months 1/6/2010 - Bebo

Bebo, here we are a month away from you turning two. I have been trying to enjoy you to the fullest because I know how fast the time goes, but even being conscious of it doesn't make the time slow down one bit. Opening gifts this year for Christmas was a lot of fun for you. I am looking forward to seeing you at your birthday party in a month. You made sure that every inch of the wrapping paper was off from the box that you were about to open. Playing outside in the snow has been so much fun for you this year too. Your lovely brother taught you how to eat it. So the picture above is of you after you basically gave yourself a face wash to taste the cold snow. You thought it was hilarious!
Bebo, you are as sweet as candy. A week ago you got your blanket, came over to me, and asked to be picked up. I was working on something and so I grabbed you and put you on my hip while I continued to do my work. You were jabbering away in my ear, but I wasn't getting what you were trying to say to me. You got a little frustrated, grabbed my chin, pulled it so that I looked at you, and said, "rock mama, rock." It was the sweetest thing. So I quit what I was doing and rocked with you. You still love to cuddle.
The closer you get to two the more I am seeing the terrible twos coming out in you. Little tantrums are thrown when things don't go your way. You throw yourself on the floor and kick your legs. I am sorry, but sometimes I can't help but laugh.
Bebo, I love your easy going personality. I love your snuggles, the way you make me laugh, and your smile. Thank you for how much you have blessed my life. Love, Mama.

Twenty Ten

Last night Fisherman and I said good-bye to oh nine by participating in our first 5K. I was disappointed in my performance because I made an injury that I had even worse 1/3 of the way into it, BUT it was still a good way to end the year. I was proud of how far I have come with becoming a runner and proud of the fact that I am teaching my kids that exercise can be fun and should be a part of your everyday routine.

We are excited to see what this year has to hold for us. From our family to yours, we wish you a 2010 that is full of heart warming things.
