My Cowboy

I took these pictures yesterday and just had to post them because they sum up my little man right now.
If Bebo wears cowboy jammies to bed at night don't expect to be able to change him out of them to put clothes on in the morning. Yesterday we had to go to the doctor for well child check-ups and I showed up with one boy dressed and the other in cowboy pajamas.
He is completely in his element here. Cowboy jammies, cowboy hat, cowboy boots, and sucking his thumb. Only thing that is missing is his blanket. Last night after the jammies had been worn for almost 24 hours straight they were crusted with some food and not the cleanest, I was that mom with the dirty kid in jammies bringing Monk to karate. It all just makes me smile.

Sunshine

The sun was out last week so we had to get out and what better way to spend some time outside than having Monk try out his new bike?
Bebo LOVED that now he was able to ride the tricycle. This brought me so much joy to see my two boys enjoying a bike ride.

Beater Lickin' Good

When I made the boy's birthday cake it was a must that they lick the beaters after I made the frosting.
This was Bebo's first beater licking experience.

Cowboy Birthday

Yesterday instead of celebrating Valentine's Day we had a rip roarin' cowboy birthday at our house. Monk and Bebo got dressed in their cowboy clothes and invited my family to come over in their cowboy gear as well. I made cowboy boot cake, one for each little boy. Bebo stuck his finger in his "happy birthday."
We had a cowboy balloon bunch for about 5 minutes until Bebo insisted that he have the cowboy balloon for himself. This followed by taking out the green balloon for Monk and the "lellow" balloon for Bebo. We ate off from tin plates and had bbq ribs and brisket that Fisherman prepared.
Monk got a bike helmet for his new bike that he got for Christmas. What is up with the goofy smile? This is a favorite of Monk's when you ask him to smile.
Bebo FINALLY got his very own cowboy boots.
Bebo kept the party moving. He had barely finished his presents when he was asking to have cake.
Happy Birthday to my two little buckaroos.
It was pure chaos, as is common with children's birthdays, but it was a lot of fun for the boys.

Tubes for Another Boy

This past Thursday Bebo got tubes in his ears just like his big brother. Woody made the trip to the hospital.
Fisherman and I got Bebo his very own Pablo and Tyrone just like his big brother got when he had his surgery. Bebo likes Pablo and Tyrone too, but when I gave him these he was asking for Austin.
Before surgery we spent some time watching Curios George or "monkey George" as Bebo calls it...
...and he spent lots of time snuggling on my lap, which I LOVED! Surgery went well, but recovery did not. I could not calm him down for over an hour. I made the mistake of deciding to go home. He wiggled his way partially out of his seat belt and was trying to climb up the back seat while screaming. It was sooooooooooooo heart breaking. He settled soon after we got home and everything was good again.
My sister and her family brought Bebo a Mr. Brown book for his Tag Jr. which he has been enjoying very much. Papa and Nana brought this little puppy and a Toy Story dinner set. He has been spoiled to the max. Here's to no more ear infections for awhile!

The "8th" in pictures

Unfortunately Monk's birthday fell on a Monday this year so I had to work during the day and register him for preschool at night so we celebrated on Sunday instead. Monk was also greeted in the morning with birthday wishes and streamers hanging from his door. He was very excited to be the "star" for the day.
He chose to have blueberry pancakes like Curious George and some sausage for breakfast. He LOVES helping Daddy make pancakes.

Woody was a hit with Monk as well. He has been snuggled with Monk in his bed every night since Sunday too. Monk's most prized gift was his cars leapster game though.
Monk decorated his Lightening McQueen cupcakes.
We went for lunch at Red Robin because this is Monk's favorite place to play "I spy." He was very excited to have some chocolate milk because he doesn't ever really get it, but never stops asking.
After dinner Monk and Bebo were brought ice cream sundaes and sung happy birthday to.
We had to burn off some of our lunch at Crazy Bounce.
Happy Birthday Monker!
After nap Monk had some friends over, watched some football, and enjoyed some deer meat. It was the perfect day for a perfect little four year old boy.

The 6th in Pictures

Bebo woke up on Saturday morning to his crazy Mama signing him Happy Birthday and balloons being kicked in his room. He loved the streamers hanging from his door and had to go in and out of his room several times. He loves the color yellow and loves balloons. Everything is yellow so we heard, "that my lellow" several times during the day.
After pancakes for breakfast Bebo opened his presents.
Some new books for his tag jr.
Woody was a HUGE hit. Seeing his face light up like that when he opened his woody doll was worth every penny.
We decorated some "mater" cupcakes.
Woody and Buzz have a sweet reunion.
After nap we all headed to the aquatic center. We had a good time, but after about an hour this little man was asking for Woody and wanted to go find him.
Pizza followed. Only on your birthday can you eat pizza sauce plain directly out of the cup.
Happy Birthday sweet little man!

I tucked my little two year old into bed. He has insisted that Woody sleep with him every night since Saturday.

To My Four Year Old Monk

1 Year
2 Years
3 Years
4 Years Old
and in case you don't totally believe that Monk is 4 today the pose in this picture will remind you.
My dear Monkadilly,
The whole day today I have been thinking of you and the day that you were born. I cannot believe that it has been four years already. I am in awe that I have played the Mama role for four whole years already. It seems like just yesterday that a wiggly little newborn was placed into my arms for the first time. This last year has been a good one. I have seen you grow so much now that you have been in school. I have watched you learn so many new things and I love hearing you speak Spanish here and there. Your imagination is bigger now than it has ever been. I love that even though you are four you still love to snuggle with your mom. I hope that you never grow out of that.
I love to see you smile Monk. When I hear you laugh and smile it brings me so much joy. My hope for you is that your life is filled with joy and happiness always. Monk you do so many things that make your Dad and I laugh. My favorite is when you shrug your little shoulders, with a smile on your face, and your eyes widen. I also love the little jig you do when music plays.
I love how you love life and want to share it with me all the time. I love being there for all the little things and I love hearing about your day. Monk I love you with everything that I have and I will always love you no matter what. Love, Mama

Happy 2nd My Sweet Bebo

Bebo, today at the very second this blog was posted, two years ago, I was given a gift. In the last couple of weeks I have been able to reflect on what a true gift and what a miracle children really are. I am so blessed to have you in my life and to have had you for two whole years. I will never forget the moment I met you for the first time. It was one of the best moments I have ever experienced in my entire life. My heart was forever changed.
I love your silliness and the fact that you are talking about something constantly. In a lot of the pictures that I take of you your mouth is moving. Your voice is so sweet. Some of my favorite phrases are, "here we are," "to the rescue," and I just love when you say "new b."
This past month we set up your train table with your very own trains. I have never seen you so excited. You LOVE to play with trains and will go downstairs by yourself just so you can monkey with them. I am so happy when I can give you things that you love so much.
You are such a laid back little man. You take whatever comes your way. You LOVE to eat. This past month I have not been able to keep up with you and have had to say no a time or two. You throw your biggest fits over food. Five minutes after we have eaten breakfast you are asking for some crackers.
I made this shirt for you. It was number one on your list because of the cowboy hats on it. You called it your "cowboy birthday." I made the mistake of showing it to you. You insisted on putting it on, then had to wear it to bed that night, and the next morning when I insisted that you take the dirty shirt off you threw a fit. When you found it in the laundry you were so mad that it was wet and couldn't be worn. That's how much you LOVE cowboys. You carry this little cowboy and horse most places that you go. It warms my heart.
Bebo, I could not ask for a better two year old. I can't believe that you have been in my life for two years already and I wish the time would slow down, but I am loving watching you grow and change into a little boy. I look forward to spending another year with you. I love you more than you will ever know. Love, Mama
