I am blogging over here today so come and check it out. My cousin started this review blog and it is fantastic. She has giveaways going on and some great tips for woman and mums. She updates her blog a lot and I will be appearing as a guest writer here and there. Right now she has a great giveaway going on for a Lands End Jacket.

She's Green

I am not sure how it all began, but I have been on a bit of a kick to save money and conserve our Earth by doing what I can. I always had the attitude that I couldn't make a difference, but I just read a book that made me believe otherwise. I have to admit that I throw up in my mouth a little when I hear about Hollywood going green and possibly this post is having the same affect on some of you, but let's face it the Earth's resources are not going to last forever. I am not doing everything that I can. I am striving to do a little more each day. A few changes that I have made are cloth diapers, turning off lights, unplugging things that don't need to be plugged in all the time like the TV, hanging clothes out on the line, trying to get rid of the use of plastic bags in our house, and The Sling Shack just started carrying Kleen Kanteens so that we can get rid of the use of plastic drink containers in our house as well. Americans can be so wasteful, myself included, but what if everyone did a few things to help conserve our Earth. Even if everyone just did one thing. We could really make a difference. Plus it makes you feel good when you are doing it. Some of the changes that took place made me a little nervous at first, but I have really grown to love them. Cloth diapers for example, I was afraid to try them, but now that I use them full time I LOVE them and would choose them over disposables any day. Go green, it's kind of fun! If anyone has anymore little changes that I could make please comment and let me know.

Poncho's - 2nd Annual

We went to Poncho's Halloween weekend for the second time and had lots of fun. The little man pictured above came down with a little fever and threw a little bit of a wrench in the weekend with some extra gasoline expenses, but we still had a good time. We had AMAZING weather during the day and were still able to bundle up in our fun fall clothes at night.

We started the weekend off right with a hay ride and some glow bracelets.
On Saturday there were LOADS of activities costume judging and the pinata were lots of fun.
We went with six families and the kids in our group won 3 out of the 5 age groups in the costume judging contest. My sister's kids and our kids dressed up as the Wizard of Oz. We had a lot of fun with it and I even sewed Bebo some little elf shoes for his munchkin costume. That's right I'm crafty. After costume judging was Monk's favorite, TRICK-OR-TREATING!
We did some pumpkin carving and since Fisherman was home with Bebo I had to carve Monk's pumpkin. It was complete with one eye winking.
After everyone carves their pumpkin there is pumpkin judging and each age group winner gets a prize. To end the night on Saturday night there was a haunted house. Now some crazies were bringing in their three year old kids, but I wasn't about to have Monk waking up in the middle of the night so I just dragged my sister along with me. It was a great time had by all.

Thirty-Two Months Old 10/08/08 - Monk

Monk you are a crazy little man with lots of funny quirks. Your Dad and I have been learning what having a two year old is all about in the past month, temper tantrums and lots of whining. We love you despite these two thorns and have still been having fun. The other night the whole family was hanging out in your room. You were making broccoli stew for your me, Daddy, and Bebo and you were in your glory. You are going to be a little entertainer I tell you what.
The phrase "shall we," has become normalcy for you. You say "shall we go to the store Mommy." You're two, what two year old says shall we? It makes me laugh out loud. When I go to get your out of bed for your naps you say "Good Morning Mommy" in the cutest little voice. I grab you and you lay your head on my shoulder. It has to be one of my favorite parts of the day.
You are loving Worms (shermins) and anything that has to do with your Daddy. You don't like not being able to get anything you want whenever you want or going home. This month you have started asking "where are we going," "why," and "what are you doing." I love your curiosity, but sometimes it almost drives me a little nuts.
Monk I love your laughter and your smile. I love the way you love the family around you. You have a contagious personality. You are always on the go and having lots of fun. Thanks for loving me. I love you buddy, Mama.

Eight Months Old10/06/08 - Bebo

Bebo you are eight months little man! This past month you have changed into such a little person. You have tried LOTS of new foods. Eating is your favorite. I feel like I could feed you all day and you would never get full. You aren't really too picky in what you eat, you just like to have something in front of you at ALL times.
You are such a laid back little man. You are willing to do whatever comes your way. You go to bed like a champ, lay down for naps with no problem and are just all over easy going.
I loved hearing your voice. This past month you have started talking more and more. You make sounds like Ma, Da, and your latest which has earned you a new temporary nickname is Ba. I have been calling you Bob and you seem to like it. You loved playing with new gadgets that aren't toys, digging through bags, and being outside. You don't like getting your face wiped, when mealtime is done, and when your lovely brother pushes you down.
Bebo I love the way you smell. I love your dimples and your chubby cheeks. I love your smile and the way that you say ba over and over again. I love the way your chubby little hands grab unto your feet when I am changing our diaper. I love the way you bob your head when I am feeding you in your high chair. You are my sweet little bean of a man. I love you more than you will ever know. Love, Mama

Girls Weekend

This past weekend I was able to go for TWO WHOLE NIGHTS to a cottage on a lake with some good girlfriends. I have not laughed that hard in a long time. I laughed so hard I cried on more than one occasion. Thanks to all the girls who made me laugh and who were willing to put up with me for more than one night. Also a special thanks to my lovely fisherman who graciously cared for our babies by himself while I was gone. I respect Fisher soooooo much because he makes it so easy for me to get away. Thanks honey! I didn't take my camera along with me, but if you would like to see some pics from the weekend you can view them here OR here.

Two Brothers

So I put Bebo in the same exact clothes as Monk wore for his pumpkin picture when he was a baby just to see how much they look alike or different. I don't really see a whole lot of similarities.
